when you think of super villians, lex luthor instantly comes to mind. If you walk up to a random person and ask them to name a superman enemy, Lex Luthor is almost always the answer. He does whatever is necessary and has no concience which makes him a great viliian. although darkseid is a great runner up somehow lex luthor always ends up in the movies due to his emence intalect. he's like the batman of supervillians and who doesn't like batman. plus batman was the one who beat superman in fight by faking his death and stabbing him with kryptonite. That's it.
Lex Luthor is so good because he has no powers but can defeat Superman because he is so intelligent. In his suit, he is one of the most powerful villains in all comic book history.

8)  MR. MXYZPTLK :-

Mr. Mxyzptlk has access to fifth-dimensional technology that appears to be magical to third-dimensional beings. His abilities are limited only by his willpower (he could, for example, make Superman morbidly obese by snapping his fingers). His only apparent weakness is that whenever he speaks his name backwards, he is shunted back to the fifth dimension, and all effects of his "magic" vanish, making everything as it was before he appeared. Although Mxyzptlk's gullible nature often makes it easy for Superman or other individuals to trick him into saying his name backwards, it is only a temporary deterrent; after ninety days, he can again visit Earth at will.
Though easily the most powerful of Superman's recurring enemies, Mxyzptlk is simply a fun-loving prankster who prefers to use his power for childish antics and light-hearted harassment rather than intentional malicious evil, as he would get bored very quickly by doing so; thus he is more of an annoyance to the Man of Steel than a true threat.

7) SILVER BANSHEE :-

Silver Banshee has superhuman strength, agility, speed, endurance, and a high degree of resistance to physical and energy-based attacks. Her incredibly strong and destructive hypersonic wails, sonic screams, and sonic yells can kill anyone within a certain range as long as she can see her victim and knows their secret true name. Victims are usually reduced to desiccated husks. Silver Banshee is able to use her sound/sonic-based abilities to teleport via sound waves.

6) BIZARRO :-

Publisher DC Comics
First appearance Superboy #68
(Oct. 1958)
Created by Otto Binder
George Papp
(based upon Superman by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster)

Abilities Reverse Versions of Kryptonian Powers:
  • Superhuman strength, speed, Superhuman hearing, and Superhuman endurance
  • Flight
  • Healing factor
  • Invulnerability
  • Freeze vision
  • Heat breath
  • Vacuum breath
  • Spot-light vision
  • X-ray vision
  • Telescopic vision
  • Microscopic vision

Bizarro is depicted as having all the abilities of Superman, although in some incarnations several of these traits have been reversed, such as
  • "freeze vision" instead of heat vision
  • "flame breath" instead of freeze breath
  • "vacuum breath" instead of super breath
  • "Bizarro telescopic vision" which allows Bizarro to see a "short distance behind his head" rather than a "long distance in front of his head"
  • "Bizarro microscopic vision" which makes objects "actually smaller to everyone" rather than merely "appear to be bigger to only the user"
  • "Bizarro X-ray vision" which allows Bizarro to "only see through lead" rather than the ability to "see through anything except lead"
This also applies to weaknesses, as Bizarro is vulnerable to blue kryptonite, as opposed to green kryptonite, which is lethal to Superman. Bizarro is actually strengthened by green kryptonite as opposed to blue kryptonite.

5) GENERAL ZOD :-

Publisher DC Comics
First appearance Adventure Comics #283
(April 1961)
Created by Robert Bernstein
George Papp

Full name Dru-Zod
Place of origin Krypton

Abilities Superhuman Strength
Superhuman Speed
Superhuman Agility
Superhuman Endurance
Superhuman Hearing
Vortex Breath
Heat Vision
Flight
Healing Factor
Invulnerability
X-Ray Vision
Skilled Warrior & Military Tactitian

Like all Kryptonians under a yellow sun, General Zod possesses vast strength, speed, and endurance; super hearing; x-ray vision; telescopic, microscopic, and heat vision; super-breath and freeze-breath; invulnerability; healing and flight. In the movie Superman II he also displayed telekinetic powers, able to levitate a police officer's gun into his hand. Zod possesses a detailed knowledge of military tactics, giving him an advantage over Superman's somewhat amateurish combat prowess. Zod was trained in fighting arts before receiving his abilities, while Superman is prone to battling his foes with the aid of his own. Despite his tactical superiority in a confrontation with Superman, Zod's main weakness is shown to be his arrogance. Not only does he underestimate Superman's other allies, but he also lacks the ability to acknowledge his mistakes. When Zod originally escaped the Phantom Zone in the post-Crisis continuity, he proclaimed that he could have saved Krypton if his plan to kill the Council had succeeded; Superman's rational argument was that nobody on Krypton would have followed Zod, also drawing attention to Zod's inability to explain exactly what he would have done to avert Krypton's destruction, with Zod's only response being to reiterate his belief in his own success rather than provide any kind of counter to Superman's claims. In addition, his powers are often inferior to those of Superman, due to the latter being exposed to the yellow sun over the course of his entire life, while Zod typically only gets exposed for a short period of time before being defeated and returned to the Phantom Zone, giving Superman an edge over Zod's superior fighting skill.

4) PARASITE :-

Publisher DC Comics
First appearance (Jensen) Action Comics #340 (August 1966)
(Jones) Firestorm (second series) #58 (April 1987)
(Allstons) Adventures of Superman #633 (Dec. 2004)
Created by (Jensen)
Jim Shooter
(Jones) John Ostrander and Joe Brozowski
(Allstons) Greg Rucka, Matthew Clark, and Andrew Lanning

Alter ego - Raymond Maxwell Jensen
- Rudy Jones (with Torval Freeman)
- Alex and Alexandra Allston
Team affiliations S.T.A.R. Labs
Suicide Squad
Superman Revenge Squad
Secret Society of Super Villains
Abilities Absorption of energy, superpowers, and intelligence through physical contact

All Parasites are able to absorb the life energy of other beings through physical contact. They are also able to absorb virtually any other energy form and use it.
Rudy Jones and Dr. Torval Freeman gained enhanced strength, intelligence, agility and stamina by absorbing the energy of other beings. By absorbing the energy of superhumans, he gains their powers (though these powers are finite, as he uses up the superhuman life force). Parasite is shown to have a special visual perception that allows him to see and sense life energy and power within a being.Even Superman isn't immune, his powers become so drained that he becomes as weak as any normal human while Parasite is just as strong as Superman is normally.
After contact with the Strange Visitor, Parasite’s powers changed enabling him to keep the energy he took longer. Somewhere Jones and his scientist counterpart gained new powers by absorbing the life energy of a shape-shifter as well. Now, not only does he sap the life energy out of his victims, he can actually become his victims right down to their DNA, including having access to their memories and natural abilities.
One of Parasite's most prominent physical features is his pink-violet skin pigmintation and the physical deformities to his face, seemingly totally covered by a mask, including his eyes, nose and mouth, giving him ambiguous as well as fearsome facial features.

3) BRAINIAC :-

Publisher DC Comics
First appearance Action Comics #242 (July 1958)
Created by Otto Binder (writer)
Al Plastino (artist)

Alter ego Vril Dox
Species Coluan
Place of origin Colu
Team affiliations Anti-Justice League
Partnerships Lex Luthor
Notable aliases Dr. Milton Fine, Pulsar Stargrave, The Terror of Kandor, Collector of Worlds
Abilities Twelfth-level intelligence; variable superhuman powers, including the mimicking of Kryptonian superpowers

Brainiac has a "12th-level intellect", allowing calculation abilities, enhanced memory and advanced understanding of mechanical engineering, bio-engineering, physics, and other theoretical and applied sciences, as well as extensive knowledge of various alien technologies. Compare this to the population of 20th century Earth as a whole constitutes a 6th-Level intelligence and the population of 31st century Earth as a whole is a 9th-Level intelligence. The character has created devices such as a force field belt and a shrinking ray capable of reducing cities. Brainiac's advanced mental powers have shown him capable of possessing others, absorb information from other beings, transferring his consciousness, creating and manipulating computer systems, replicate multiple versions of himself, and exerting powers to transverse or control over space and time. John Byrne's re-imagining of the character possessed telepathy and telekinesis that were further augmented by an implanted electrode head-piece.
The most recent version of Brainiac (a living Coluan who utilizes android "probes") is connected to his ship in such a way that he can be disabled for a short periods if separated without warning. While inside his ship he is capable of fighting evenly with and overpowering the likes of Superman. He heals from injuries at incredible speed. After being separated from the ship he physically starts to deteriorate and is far less powerful. He is a biological creature that has altered his body to acquire more knowledge to become "better." With his ship, knowledge, and technology, Brainiac has captured thousands of cities and destroyed just as many civilizations. He is considered one of or the most powerful villain Superman has faced.

2)  METALLO :-

Publisher DC Comics
First appearance Action Comics #252 (May 1959)
Created by Robert Bernstein, Al Plastino

Alter ego John Wayne Corben
Team affiliations Injustice League
Underground Society
United States Army
Notable aliases Metal Zero (Metal-0)
Abilities Cyborg body
Kryptonite power source.

Metallo’s metallic body offers him a high degree of protection from physical and energy attacks. He has enhanced abilities. Metallo no longer needs to eat, sleep or breathe. His brain is hermetically sealed inside a shielded alloy skull that has its own power supply. When he was first created he was powered by a Kryptonite heart. Additionally, as a result of his cyborg body, Metallo possesses superhuman strength and speed, enough to pose a challenge and even a threat to opponents such as Superman.
Metallo sold his soul (or what was left of it) to Neron in order to gain the ability to absorb any mechanical or metal object he touches. He can transform any machine into an extension of his exo-skeleton (an ability similar to the Cyborg Superman).
Brainiac 13 upgraded Metallo to tap into light spectra and energy frequencies. Metallo also used the technology to upgrade his body to monolithic proportions.
He is also occasionally portrayed as having a liquid metal-based exoskeleton, possessing the ability to morph parts of his body, specifically his limbs, into different weapons or tools, such as chainsaws, shovels, hammers, etc.

1) DARKSEID :-

Publisher DC Comics
First appearance cameo: Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 (November 1970)

Alter ego Uxas
Species New Gods
Place of origin Apokolips

Intergang
Secret Society of Super Villains
Notable aliases Boss Dark Side
Abilities
  • The Omega Force,
  • Super Strength,
  • Super Endurance,
  • Immortality,
  • Invulnerability,
  • Genius-level intellect

Darkseid is among the most powerful of the New Gods. His main power, the Omega Beam, is a form of energy that he fires from his eyes as either a concussive force or disintegrating energy, capable of transmuting or erasing living objects and organisms from existence as well as resurrecting them, depending on the dark lord's will. These beams stem from a cosmic energy source called the "Omega Effect." Darkseid has pinpoint control and his unerring aim allows the beam to travel in straight lines, bend, or curve around corners and can pass through matter and energy. He can teleport himself or others through time and space. Darkseid can also shoot energy blasts from his hands. His Omega Sanction traps the organism in a series of alternate realities, each one worse than the previous. Darkseid has also shown the powers of flight, shape-shifting,and possession of other living beings. During the Final Crisis, Darkseid used his Omega Beams to grant power to Mary Marvel, with her powers then being based on Anti-Life rather than magic.
Darkseid is a being whose strength and invulnerability can only be challenged by the likes of Superman, Doomsday, and Orion. He can also move with great speed, as he has been able to catch Superman off guard, and he is known to be able to react in nanoseconds. He also can increase his physical size.Darkseid has the powers of telepathy and telekinesis and can create psionic avatars. As Darkseid is a god he is also immortal, having lived for several hundred thousand years.
Despite his extraordinary physical power, Darkseid rarely engages himself personally in confrontations, as he prefers to use his superhuman intellect and genius to manipulate or control others to his ends.Darkseid has displayed his godly abilities by sensing the death of his son Orion and fluctuations of the energy of the "godwave". Darkseid commands all the military and technological resources of Apokolips. In the TV show Smallville, he is almost omnipotent and can bring forth and manipulate the darkness within a person's heart, allowing him to turn any that are not "pure" to the path of evil.
